You guys,
I’m starting a Memoir Snob Book Club! And you’re invited!
If you enjoy homework, deadlines, and punctuality, here are the requirements:
You must read the book.
You must be in attendance for the Zoom call.
You must come prepared to address the following prompts in front of the group:
A passage or sentence you loved and why
Something you learned from the writing that you’d like to replicate
A question for the author, if you could meet them
The purpose of this club is to talk about what we learned so we can become better writers. I’m curious to know what resonates with other people, what moves them and why, and how their reading experience can be vastly different from my own. Sessions will be recorded so I can capture everyone’s brilliance (strictly for note-taking purposes).
The first meeting will take place over Zoom on Tuesday, June 24 at 12pm EST. Our first book will be The Year Of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion.
If you’re interested, order the book and get reading. If you’ve already read it, read it again with the prompts in mind.
If you definitely know you’re in, by all means, tell me! But I will not ask for a commitment until June.

Happy reading!
Charlie
My calendar is open for 1-on-1 Zoom calls to discuss whatever you’d like…writing, publishing, parenting, hard conversations? Let’s talk about it! If my slim window of availability doesn’t work for your schedule, just reply and we can work something out.
Can’t wait. Will keep my eye out for the sign up link!!
Great idea! It's on at 2am in Melbourne, so I shall sleep through it, but enjoy!
