You guys,
Sam and I sent out our email Christmas card last week. Each year we look at the list we sent out the previous year and have to make big decisions. Who is off the list? And who are the new people on the list?
Family stays. Usually. I considered not including my brother but it would have caused more of a headache by not including him. I don’t expect a response.
Some friends get taken off the list because of relocating. We had a group of Charlotte friends who we haven’t stayed in contact with. They’re off.
Billy Joel says it best in his song, Say Goodbye To Hollywood:
So many faces in and out of my life
Some will last, some will just be now and then
Life is a series of hellos and goodbyes
I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again
I cherish those friendships for what they were. They happened, they were great, and they ended. It doesn’t take away from the relationships we had. We’ve all just moved on to the next chapter of our lives.
Some friends are off the list because we’ve grown apart in ways that have nothing to do with physical proximity. Sam and I value personal growth. When other people don’t, it becomes evident that we don’t have much in common anymore. Even if we were friends for years, those relationships fade.
Newcomers this year were either people we met in Wilmington or people we met on the internet.
I’ve never made friends online the way I did in 2020. The internet is so cool.
Essay of the Week
I love wrapping Christmas presents. Lots of people hate it.
I wrote an essay about the importance of a nicely wrapped gift. I tried to include detailed written instruction for how to wrap the perfect present but found it difficult to explain. So I made a video instead!
Baby Rec
Figuring out everything you need as a new parent is overwhelming. People will tell you what worked for them and their baby but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will work for you and your baby.
It’s tough to decide up front what essentials to purchase.
But one thing you definitely need are bibs. Lots of them. Because babies drool and spit up all day long. So far my favorites are Parker Baby and Copper Pearl.
If you have any bib recs, send them my way!

I love the baby bib recommendations. Do you suppose that they have adult bibs too :)?
