Great insight. In some ways, light fluff from a movie seems so insignificant but in others, it’s these messages that help shape us.

💯 hard agree...my movie was Pump Up The Volume...only attracted to emotionally unavailable boys who thought they were men.

I want to try rewatching this myself!

I’ve been thinking about how Hollywood trained me to cast a leading man who is emotionally skittish, avoidant, and using work/success as a coping mechanism. It’s also been really interesting to see how the romantic leads differ across cultures as I started watching more global shows. The American ones usually give me the ick more now actually.
