You so clearly remind your readers that there are two types of families: dysfunctional and ... wait a minute. They're all dysfunctional. The key is to get through gatherings without (1) going nuts, (2) killing someone you love or (3) swearing off family gatherings altogether. (For a long time, I opted for #3, to keep from doing #1 or #2.)

Oh, that's so depressing. I say that only because when *I* revert back in time many, many years at family gatherings, I go waaaaaay back to ... age 50. (sigh...)
