Just a lovely heart-warming story about how your friendship endures, especially when you’re honest and authentic. It was a great reminder of no matter how much we think we might know how someone thinks, we really don’t!
So true, Eric. I make up things in my head of how I think people will react and what they will think. An honest conversation can be the best way through.
Thanks, Rick. And OF COURSE as soon as I started to tell her how I felt bad about not asking her to be in my wedding I started crying. These dang hard conversations!
That didn’t really make you a bad friend. ‘Cos the feeling of going is yours to decide. At times we feel that way because of some situations on ground, probably if we’re busy or some reasons best known to us.
So warmly you explained this.I think she should be able to understand more, the reasons for your absence.
Ah yes Cissy! I love that. If I can keep that in my mind... that it's all in the pursuit of deeper and more meaningful relationships, then maybe that courage will come more easily.
SO hard to do CansaFis. There was definitely a level of safety I felt with Lonnie in order to initiate this conversation. It would not be easy to take the leap with everyone in my life.
so true - my first instinct is never brutal honesty and I'm not sure if that is good or bad. Would definitely like to get to an emotional space where that is my totality, and then any omissions from there are just strategic and/or thoughtful executions
That first kiss sounds straight out of a romance novel! Like, for real! It didn't seem sloppy at all. If you don't mind my asking, how old were you? And how old was HE? Because that guy seemed to understand the assignment. LOL

Yes, agreed!
What an awesome story of bravely trusting yourself and deepening your friendship in the process. Inspiring.
