When he kisses your boo-boos and asks if that feels better. Shit, that made ME feel better and I wasn't the one being kissed.

Another stellar essay. I love the deceptive simplicity of your writing style. Hope you recover from the concussion(s) so miraculously quickly you leave the medical fraternity flummoxed!

Haha thank you so much Medha, the medical fraternity won't know what hit 'em when they see how fast I recover!

I made a point on Thanksgiving to log things in my phone as they happened. It's amazing how much can happen in a day. And it made it relatively easy to write the piece!

Aww Charlie, I'm very sorry about your concussion. I'm sending you all my best energy.

This was a delightful read. And by the way, I've gone form liking Ms. Rachel to absolutely not standing her. There will be a Vanity Fair article in a couple of years where someone will explore that 30%. of American mothers now have the Ms. Rachel accent: "Can youu point to the banana pleeeeease?" Ah it's so annoying. And I also don't like Blippy. Would not have a drink with that dude, not even a glass of milk.

I also saw in this story how you were great at not putting other people's emotions and just giving us the fact. Leading by example as always :)

OMG Camilo I totally said something like Ms. Rachel the other day!! I think at first it was like, me making fun of her, but this last time I didn't know where it came from and I was like, oh god no.

I used to hate Blippi and now he has grown on me. But I don't know if you know this, because no one should have to know this, but there are TWO Blippis. The original Blippi is pretty great. The new guy is HORRIBLE.

I giggled the entire time. I do not know of Ms.Rachel, I will continue my ambivalence based on your essay.

This was an awesome example of how to recount a holiday. So so funny.

I am sorry about your head. Sending you hugs, long walks and lots of feeling sorry for yourself 💗💗💗

I have mixed feelings about Ms. Rachel lol. I think my kids are actually learning from her, which is very cool.

It's a fun exercise to log a day and then write about it. So much happens in one day, and when you log it, you get all that juicy specificity.

My head is much better, thank you, I was determined to beat my concussion lol.

I loved this Charlie. The use of times was so good-I could feel how slow the morning dragged out then how it sped up as the day went on.

Concussions are no fun :/ hope you recover quickly

You know what's so funny is that I didn't even realize how the day was so dragged out in the first half and then sped up, but that is exactly how it felt lol.

And thank you, I'm already feeling much better. :)

I got a concussion playing rugby in high school. I remember feeling nauseous, thinking it was just a headache and Tylenol would fix it, but getting home, curling up in an armchair, opening a book to just relax... and realizing I couldn't read.

Happy to hear :)

I'm dying. This is so relatable -- except we wish we could get our daughter back to Ms. Rachel. It's usually Peppa or these terrible Pinkfong YouTube videos (and no, not just Baby Shark, our daughter gets excited every time she sees that little pink fox). Every once and a while I get some Bluey.

Sorry about the head though, Bleeck. Get well soon!

Thanks, Scott. It's not so much Ms. Rachel, it's just that it's all the time Ms. Rachel. Can we just get a little variety?? I can't tell you how many times I've tried to push Bluey on George. He won't have it lol.

My head is feeling much better, thanks! Physical therapy is a dream.
