Serious answer: no, it's not too early. It is happening here. My 4yo has so many questions about Santa and Christmas. Both kids also like to listen to Christmas music, but Sam has the rule that we can't listen until after Thanksgiving. So, when he leaves the house, they ask for a Christmas playlist and I act like I don't really want to but then blare Christmas music and dance around the kitchen and tell them we have to turn it off when Papa comes home.
Also, all the stores are already filled with Christmas. We went to HomeGoods and I bought a Santa figurine drinking hot chocolate and eating a cookie and wearing slippers. It's ADORABLE.
Hahaha I love that so much Charlie. I'm already slightly excited. I'm volunteering on a farm and one night people were playing all sorts of Christmas music as a joke but I was secretly loving every second of it.
Ugh, it's crazy, James! When it happens I'm always like, how have I been living like this for so long?? Haha. You're spot on with being more present and aware. There is a sense of autopilot I'm on, or that I just get stuck in ways because it's a habit or routine, but if I pay attention to the feeling of dread or wrongness or that something is off, I think (hope) I can be more open to these types of revelations in the future.
passipire :"))))
It's so cute, Becky. She also likes to randomly blurt out that George has a penis and she has a "buh-jine-uh."
omg 😂😂 she’s SO PRECIOUS
You are the Clayton in this situation :
The overhead light is a personal attack on our wellbeing. He should know this by now.
I love when I'm on the same page as Clayton.
Serious question: is it too early to be excited for Christmas? Not asking for me of course, asking for a friend.
Awesome essay Charlie (:

Good for lighting! How about paint the walls or wallpaper? Something for (at least) the kids brains to be stimulated by…
Iris, yes! We started with wallpaper. We picked one we love that is fun and cheery and have been trying to base the whole room off the wallpaper!
The perfect question at the perfect time in this illuminating piece 💡
“How many solutions to my struggles have been staring me in the face and I just haven’t noticed?”
If we would only be more present and aware!

"The overhead light is a personal attack on our wellbeing." I could not agree more! :)
