Thanks, Latham! It was SO hard to not include a lesson at the end lol. I kept trying to and finally I talked myself out of it. Felt good to release it as is. :)
Karena you have no idea how happy this comment made me. I tried something different this week and just told the story without having some kind of takeaway, and I LOVE that you had your own takeaway, which btw, I hadn't even thought of!
Charlie, I love this story. So good. What a smile to bring to the morning. Thank you for sharing

Kids say the darndest things
Haha they sure do!
Are you telling us, in a round about way, that your spectacular story telling skills developed early in life, Charlie?!

Thanks, Rick, always appreciate you commenting. :)
I marvel at your ability to conjure these stories from your memory and gift them to us. To me this is a story about white lies and pride, I love it.
Feels like you are kinda coming full circle with cottage cheese as your nightly snack, no? ;)
Actually, I don't remember this story at all. But my mom tells it all the time, so I know it by heart.
I've transitioned from a big bowl of ice cream to two peanut butter cups a night, which feels like a vast improvement.
