Love the analogy of the high dive and doing hard things.

And, there is nothing worse than climbing back down without jumping.

Thanks, Scott! I have such a visceral reaction to the high dive. There were many times I climbed back down before I had the guts to finally jump. And it was horrible each time.

I so loved the telling of two humans having an instinct - and connection - in the moment a conversation starts.

YOU DID IT!!! That's always such a hard conversation to have. I can't imagine having that conversation ever. But when I get to that circumstance, I'll think of you and how nice & open you were to Bella.

Thank you, Becky. YOU CAN DO IT, TOO! It helps to practice on someone you really like and feel safe with. It's much scarier otherwise.

I really love this. It's nice to read about an instance when it went successfully and actually brought people closer together.

Yes, JM! There are plenty of times my hard conversations did not work out like this. If you can initiate the hard conversation with vulnerability, your chances are hopefully higher for connection.

The hard conversations evoke tears for me, too. Just wish there were more victory laps afterwards. :/
